Senior Disaster Recovery Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide DR consultation and technical support
• Manage and coordinate the preparation, execution, and post reviews for the annual IT disaster recovery exercises
• Validate and review the recovery procedures for all platform tasks and equipment required for the drills
• Establish and validate the DR recovery timelines in accordance to the established RTO
• Identify, update and verify the list of Business Critical Servers to be recovered in the event of a DR
• Work closely with the vendor to coordinate and manage IT disaster recovery processes in the event of a formal disaster declaration
• Work closely with the business users to identify and seek approval for the Business Critical Applications and maintain the Business Critical Application list
• Ensure appropriate escalations and status sessions are established with the users and vendors
• Review Backup & Recovery Strategy
• Manage, validate and maintain the master IT inventory list and the maintenance contracts in the data centre

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• Minimum 7 years experience with IT Infrastructure and large Data Center operations that encompass Mainframe, AS400, Midrange, and Network platforms.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting with applications
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience and 2 years of vendor management experience
• Solid knowledge and understanding of up-to-date DR planning techniques and technologies as well as the methods used in performing risk analysis and business impact analysis
• Business Continuity Certified Specialist or Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist is preferred
• Capable to work in a high-demanding and dynamic environment that requires problem triaging and decision-making
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
